The topic of abortion rights was in the spotlight in the first Texas Republican governor’s debate on Thursday evening, as candidates Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison battled to gain conservative support for the March 2 primary, the AP/Dallas Morning News reports.
